A Dream of Sunflowers!

This painting was accepted into a prestigious exhibition at Worcester Open studios and Bevere Gallery. June-July 2023. 

The theme was ENOUGH TO SEE, NOT ENOUGH TO SEE BY. 

I created this magical oil painting in many layers building up the luminosity. As the sunflowers come in and out of focus they disappear into the portrait, creating a dream-like state. 

I like to think that she is dreaming about sunflowers and her dreams are coming to life.

Van Gogh said “I dream of painting, and I paint my dreams”, making this painting a true paradox between sleeping state and consciousness.
